Gary Lineker urges action from authorities after trouble at Leeds v Newcastle
Gary Lineker has urged for the authorities to take action after fan trouble at Leeds United over the weekend.
Newcastle fans were caught in trouble as the turnstiles at Elland Road failed and caused panic among the travelling supporters.
Fears were shared in a Twitter thread, and rightly so as thousands of fans were stuck in a tight environment outside the away end.

Lineker has urged for the authorities to look into the issues at Elland Road on his Twitter account, with action needed to improve that matchday experience.
After incidents in the past, the BBC pundit warned that doing nothing could eventually cause another “disaster.”
“I hope the authorities take note of this thread and avoid another disaster,” he wrote.
Problem.
This is a real issue at Elland Road.
It also happens in the home-end turnstiles, where they will reject your ticket and block any entry at the front of a huge moving queue.
Another issue is that the stewards don’t appear to be 100% sure on what to do once that happens, and end up blocking the turnstile while informing fans who have been rejected what to do next.
Elland Road is years behind many stadiums in the Premier League, and an upgrade in the system would go a long way to solving these issues.
With the 49ers on board, they will be playing a huge part in our stadium expansion, let’s hope they also look to improve what is already there.
