We are not surprised to see Phillips bossing it at Euro 2020, and Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate will feel justified to have included him in the starting line-up.
The Leeds man belongs to this level and does not look out of place playing against the likes of Luka Modric and Ivan Perisic.
Phillips ended his first season in the Premier League with a goal and two assists in 29 games, and will now look to help England to the Euros top prize.
England are not favourites to win the tournament, but they can go far with a quality player like the Leeds enforcer in their ranks.
Despite being a defensive midfielder, Phillips proved what he is capable of doing in the final third with that wonderful assist, and head coach Marcelo Bielsa will be left delighted with what he has seen.
The Three Lions face Scotland and the Czech Republic in their remaining group games, and opponents will definitely be keeping an eye on the ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’ going forward.
