Leeds want to sign Maxwel Cornet in summer, Lyon want £20m - Alan Nixon
Leeds United want to sign Lyon star Maxwel Cornet in the summer window, according to Alan Nixon.
The Sun journalist has shared that the Whites have made contact to discover what they would have to pay, a price that sits at £20million.
Cornet has starred at left-back in the past season for Lyon but is more known as a winger, versatility that will no doubt please Marcelo Bielsa.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Nixon shared the latest player to be linked with a summer move to Elland Road.
“Leeds,” he wrote. “Looking into the price of Maxwel Cornet at Lyon.
“French club want £20million or so. Top talent.”

Perfect.
Ezgjan Alioski arrived at Elland Road as a left-winger but was quickly transformed to left-back under Bielsa, and with his exit closing in, this could be the perfect signing.
Cornet has already started his transition into defence over the year, making 36 appearances, 22 of those coming at left-back.
Andrea Radrizzani will want his squad strengthening, and for £20million, this could certainly be a bargain figure for a player with Champions League experience.
The 24-year-old grabbed a goal and an assist against Paris Saint-Germain this season and can shine from left-back no matter who the opposition.
A further report claims the Whites may wait for the valuation to drop below that asking price to make an offer, although waiting may not be recommended for the “unbelievable” talent.
This is an area that desperately needs strengthening, and if we can secure a Champions League-level star for this price, who can play over 30 games a season, it is a no-brainer.
