Garth Crooks stunned by Leeds United star Raphinha v Leicester

Garth Crooks was left stunned by Leeds United star Raphinha after the 1-1 draw against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites somehow didn’t walk away with all three points at Elland Road, with the Brazilian among many to miss clear-cut chances.

Crooks has predicted that a major exit will be imminent for Raphinha, though, with players of his class playing in the Champions League.

Writing in his BBC column this week, Crooks singled out the Brazilian for his role in the draw at Elland Road.

“This player was desperately unlucky not to get into my team last week after a blistering performance at Norwich,” he said. “However, that’s the way it goes in football sometimes.

“Against Leicester, it was impossible to ignore the Brazilian again. It’s painfully obvious to me that here is a player who sets Elland Road alight, but the question is for how long.

“Raphinha is a top-class player and most of them play in the Champions League. It’s only a matter of time.”

Class.

It is hard to imagine where we would be without Raphinha running down the right-hand side for the Whites every week.

The winger has scored 45% of our goals this season, and without him, it would be all eyes set on the relegation zone.

There is simply no chance where the likes of Marcelo Bielsa and Andrea Radrizzani would allow anything to happen in January.

Losing the winger then would be catastrophic and it would cause outrage at Elland Road in the second half of the season.

We all know he is destined for the very top and the Champions League, let’s just hope the Whites can do something to keep hold of him and give him that.

That is being very wishful, though, fingers crossed.
