Gabriel Agbonlahor took to social media to mock Leeds United after their unfortunate 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Friday (13 January).

The Whites were by far the better team on the night but couldn't take their chances and fell to defeat, making it seven games without a win and just two wins in their last 17 in all competitions.

When reacting to the game after the final whistle on his personal Twitter account (13 January), talkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor praised his own team for winning in "first gear" and claimed Leeds faced a battle against relegation now.

"What a win in first gear!! 3 points off European places!! UTV. Another relegation battle for Leeds," he wrote.

Proud

Leeds were beaten in the game on Friday, but the performance was one that the fans can be proud of for the most part.

We were the better team by a distance and if we played the fixture the same way ten times, we'd probably win nine of them.

With that said though, Agbonlahor is right that we're in a relegation battle now as the defeat means we're only two points above the drop zone.

Leeds United

Only two wins in 17 games isn't nearly good enough and Jesse Marsch shouldn't be surprised to see his name linked with a potential exit from the club between now and the next fixtures.

But if he can keep the team playing to this level consistently, then there is no reason to believe he won't turn things around and keep us in the Premier League. The question is how long do we give him, with this current run.
