Gabby Agbonlahor tips fresh investment at Leeds after 1-0 loss v Aston Villa

Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Leeds United to get more investment after the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday evening in the Premier League.

The San Francisco 49ers have recently upped their stake at Elland Road, and now control over a third of the club alongside Andrea Radrizzani.

Agbonlahor has insisted the club will use that wisely in the summer market, and then backed Marcelo Bielsa to bring back European football in West Yorkshire.

Speaking to Stadium Astro on YouTube after the game, Agbonlahor tipped the Whites to bring in some fresh faces into their squad over the summer.

“I think that’s a hard question as I think they can both go very far,” he said.

“I feel that Leeds United are going to get some investment, and with a few more better players in that team, Bielsa can definitely take them on into the European places.”

Agbonlahor, showing Leeds credit? We must be dreaming.

In all seriousness though, the Whites and Villa are two examples of clubs who are desperate to get back into European contention, although the latter are one season ahead of us.

Leeds are performing way above expectations after their 16-year absence away from the Premier League and with the majority of their squad from the Championship.

Phil Hay recently shared that the Whites want to sign up to five more players in the summer, and if they’re on the same level as Raphinha, the squad could be well prepared for that push into Europe next season; bring it on.
