Gabby Agbonlahor slates Leeds United fans after defeat v Arsenal

Gabby Agbonlahor was left baffled by Leeds United fans at the end of the 4-1 defeat against Arsenal.

Speaking on talkSPORT after the game [18 December], the former Aston Villa striker turned pundit slated the Whites fans for chanting and supporting their team.

With the score at 4-1 to the visitors, the Elland Road crowd showed their unwavering support for their side by chanting and waving scarves.

This was an incredible moment, but Agbonlahor wasn’t happy with it.

He said: “I just don’t understand it. The atmosphere at the ground, the fans are cheering, you are getting battered every week. It’s Sunday league scores.

“It baffles me. If my team were losing like Leeds are losing, I wouldn’t expect the fans to be clapping.

“You are getting humiliated, battered. Sunday league scores 11 goals in two games. This isn’t how you play in the Premier League.

“It baffles me. If I [were] a Leeds fan, I’d be very worried about them going down this season.”

Agbonlahor trying to wind up Leeds fans?

We all know that Agbonlahor doesn’t like Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa or their fans, but criticising them for supporting their team is baffling.

Yes, most fans might have turned on the manager or the players after two batterings in the space of a week, but Leeds fans aren’t like that.

The way they supported the team at the end of the game on Saturday night was something special, and it shows why fans are so important, and the Whites supporters in Elland Road deserve huge praise.

This might have confused Agbonlahor, but we think it was incredible, and it shows that the fans are behind the players and the manager.

Now, the last two results haven’t been great, and Leeds have looked easy to play against, but Manchester City and Arsenal are top teams as it stands.

So, perhaps they weren’t expected to get much from either of those matches, and the Whites’ fate will be decided against the teams around them.

In other Leeds United news, Agbonlahor has ripped into Marcelo Bielsa and called for him to be sacked.
