Gabby Agbonlahor mocks Leeds United as Christmas lockdown mooted

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that there is more chance of Leeds United winning a game than Boris Johnson announcing a lockdown.

The UK prime minister is set to make an announcement within the next two days on whether people can see their family this Christmas, and Gary Neville took to his personal Twitter account to react in two words.

Agbonlahor saw it as a chance to aim another jibe at the Elland Road outfit, quoting the Sky Sports pundit on Twitter and mocking their Premier League form in 2021-22.

He said: “Lol.”

“Deary me, more chance of Leeds winning a game.”

Butt of the joke

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have become the butt of the former Aston Villa striker’s jokes, and a day does not go by without him aiming a dig at them.

He is either doing it on social media or on talkSPORT, and he did claim on-air earlier in December that he would swim in River Thames if Leeds went down.

The Whites have not done well in recent games, but that could be due to the fact that they have come against some of the bigwigs.

They let in 11 goals against Manchester City and Arsenal, and things could get worse when they travel to Liverpool on Boxing Day.

Three Premier League wins in 2021-22 is not a great return, and they need to add to that tally when they come up against the Reds and Aston Villa in their final games of 2021.

Leeds have had injuries deal a massive blow on their campaign, but they should have strengthened their squad in the summer and cannot afford not to do so in January.

Sticking to his style of play has not helped Bielsa, but they will not have any tangible excuse if they go down, and some things must change on and off the pitch in the coming weeks.

In other Leeds United news, Whites chiefs recently jetted out of the UK for talks.
