Gabby Agbonlahor makes surprising Leeds United admission on talkSPORT

Gabby Agbonlahor has admitted he wants Leeds United to stay up on the final day against Brentford.

Leeds go into the West London fixture knowing that they need better Burnley’s result in order to avoid relegation.

Despite previous debates with Leeds fans, Agbonlahor actually wants the Whites to remain in the Premier League.

Talking on talkSPORT breakfast, he said: “I actually want them [Leeds] to stay up.

“They’re fun in the Premier League Leeds, I like the rivalry with other teams and It took them that long to get to the Premier League I want them to stay in it.”

Is the fun over?

Agbonlahor is right, Leeds have certainly entertained during their two years in the Premier League and ultimately a club the size of the Whites shouldn’t be in the Championship.

Sadly, their two-year top-flight stay is hanging by a thread.

With uncertainty over the 49ers’ future investment, if the club is relegated, the Whites desperately need things to go their way on Sunday.

The Elland Road faithful will be petrified of another spell in the Championship, as they know better than any fan base the struggles of getting out of it.

Jesse Marsch and his players need to come to terms with the consequences a relegation could cause for the club going forward and leave absolutely everything on the pitch on Sunday.

It promises to be a nervous final day, with plenty of twists and turns to come for both Burnley and Leeds.

At the moment, it is certainly the Clarets who are in the driving seat.
