French club receive multiple offers for Leeds United target Alberth Elis

FC Girondins have fielded multiple offers for Leeds United target and striker Alberth Elis this summer.

According to Honduras media outlet Diario Diez, the 26-year-old has recently returned for pre-season and the club’s stance on the Honduran striker has been detailed.

It’s understood that while they have received bids for the striker, they are in no hurry to sell him as they’re waiting for better offers.

L’Equipe reported on June 8 that Leeds had already made an approach to sign the former Boavista attacker.

To say that he’s been viewed as a direct replacement to Raphinha or Patrick Bamford is a tad unfair as he’s an extremely versatile player.

He can play in all three attacking positions and while he prefers playing off the right, he is equally threatening when deployed down the middle.

Not only are the Whites believed to be keen on signing a replacement for Raphinha, they are also keen on signing a striker.

Bamford’s injury last season exposed the lack of depth in the Leeds squad as both Marcelo Bielsa and Jesse Marsch struggled to settle on one player to lead the line.

Girondins director Admar Lopes is an admirer of the 26-year-old and has waxed lyrical over him in the past.

Via LeedsLive, he said, “Albert is a forward we’ve been very familiar with since he was a young boy. He has incredible, explosive power and is capable of playing anywhere in attack. Alberth also brings with him a deep wellspring of drive and ambition.”

Elis may not want to play third-tier football, especially when he’s getting the chance to play in the best league in the world.

In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has shared if a ‘Sensational’ defensive midfielder has agreed terms for an Elland Road switch and become the club’s fourth summer signing.
