Five players out of Leeds United clash v Tottenham Hotspur, Jack Harrison issue emerges

Jesse Marsch has revealed Leeds United will be without five players for their Premier League clash with Tottenham on Saturday.

Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich are both out of the trip to North London, along with Adam Forshaw and long-term absentee Stuart Dallas.

Youngster Archie Gray is also still sidelined with an ankle issue which will keep him out for six to eight weeks. Jack Harrison is also a doubt for the match against Antonio Conte’s side.

“Patrick is out for this match. Klichy is out for this match after a knee contact at Wolves. Harrison questionable with a muscle issue,” said Marsch (quoted by Leeds Live, 11 November).

“Gray’s injury has turned into an ankle issue. Shut him down for six to eight weeks. A defect in his ankle was highlighted when he broke his toe.”

“Forshaw training hard. If Spurs were three days later he’d make it.”

“Stuart making great progress.”

Point will do

Leeds would be more content with a point as they travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (12 November). The Yorkshire side are currently 12th, three points above the bottom three in a congested Premier League table.

They’re by no means travelling to face a top side in their best form at the moment with Spurs coming off the back of a League Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest and a disappointing loss to Liverpool in the league. Furthermore, they only just managed to edge out Bournemouth 3-2 at the Vitality Stadium the week before. This is a side that has clearly been struggling of late, and if Marsch’s men can play with the right energy throughout, they could come away with something from the fixture.

If the Whites can avoid defeat, then if look at the bigger picture, it’s actually been a reasonable start to their Premier League campaign under the American. A little bit more consistency is still required for Leeds, but if it can be found, there’s no reason why they can’t push towards the top ten come the end of the season.

In other Leeds United news, a European club has confirmed they’ll be doing an official farewell for a player who’s been signed by the Whites.
