Fabrizio Romano shares if Leeds United will sell both Raphinha and Phillips this summer

Leeds United will not sell two or three players this summer, according to Sky Sports journalist and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Romano was addressing the reports linking Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha with an exit.

While he admits that the Brazilian will have big chances to leave, he does not see Leeds being an easy team to negotiate with.

Speaking on CBS Sport’s Que Golazo podcast, Romano said, “If they stay up, [Villa] negotiating with Leeds is not going to be an easy one [for Phillips].

“Raphinha will have big opportunities to go, but they won’t sell two or three players. It has always been difficult to negotiate with Leeds.”

Makes sense

A double blow this summer will certainly be catastrophic for Leeds and their fans.

They will be fine losing Raphinha as long as they get a transfer fee for his services.

However, for Phillips, a Yorkshire lad and Elland Road hero to leave in the same window, it might be a bitter pill to swallow.

Thus far, all credible links point towards Raphinha moving to Barcelona, given the Catalan’s constant pursuit.

Phillips might stay put for another season as his aspirations will be to play in the Champions League and not for clubs like Aston Villa.

It remains to be seen what the summer has in store for Leeds and the future of their two key players.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
