Fabrizio Romano drops Marcelo Bielsa update as Leeds United sack Jesse Marsch
Marcelo Bielsa is reportedly unlikely to make a return to Leeds United after the club decided to part ways with Jesse Marsch.
According to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, just under 12 months before he was appointed to replace Bielsa, the American has been shown the door with his side in 17th place.
However, while talks have begun to find replacements, the Argentine is not expected to make his return to Elland Road.
Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “More on Leeds United. Marcelo Bielsa return is described as ‘unlikely’ at this stage — huge respect for what he did in the past but plans look now different as things stand. Leeds are speaking to other candidates while Jesse Marsch has been fired.”
Not happening
Bielsa would not want to return to the club after being disrespected like that and sacked because of some bad results against big teams.
Nobody expected Leeds to win any of those games, but it was just down to the scoreline that the board made such a stupid decision.
The manager had the backing of the dressing room at the time and he proved he could handle adversity perfectly, but Andrea Radrizzani still made the call.

It’s not like Marsch did any better and needed a favour from elsewhere on the final day of last season to stay up and this season they’ve been fighting relegation since the start.
They cannot afford to get this next appointment wrong, especially after spending so much money in the transfer window.
We’re unsure as to which managers would now be in the frame to replace the American, but the process needs to be completed sooner rather than later.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now preparing to sign a former Barcelona defender in the summer and have already taken decisive steps towards sealing the deal.
