FA Intermediary Paul O’Keefe destroys travel schedule after Leeds v Palace

Leeds United take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League this evening as they are desperate for three points.

With the game being shown live on Amazon Prime, the kick-off has been pushed back to 8:15 pm which is already causing some unrest.

FA Intermediary Paul O’Keefe has destroyed that decision, with the trains making return travel to London for Palace fans nearly impossible.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, O’Keefe was clearly stunned by the plans in place to get back to London this evening.

“Palace travel to Leeds tonight and the last feasible train home to London departs during the game.

“They can always get the 02.35 am one I guess for the bargain price of £140. Absolute farce.”

Farce.

Although Palace are clearly the ones affected by this one the most, it will also hit some Leeds fans hard too who have made the trip down from the capital.

This is clearly the fault of Amazon, who have pushed the kick-off time back even later to hit their “optimal” time with Norwich’s clash at Newcastle 45 minutes earlier.

Football is all about the fans, and without them, it is nothing, so why Amazon think this is acceptable is simply beyond us.

Train times can’t be single-handily changed just because the football is also moved around, although could there be a bigger effort to create special travel times?

If TV companies are going to be changing the times and dates of games, they have to make a bigger effort to help the fans – if not, it will remain a farce.
