Ezgjan Alioski set to complete next move in ‘short time’

Ezgjan Alioski is officially no longer a contracted Leeds United player as of Thursday with his current deal expiring.

The Whites have made it no secret that they would love him to stay, and that can still happen past today’s deadline if terms are thrashed out.

Turkish outlet Fotomac have shared a major update today, claiming that his next move will be confirmed in a “short time.”

Unfortunately, it appears as though Trabzonspor will win the race.

The Turkish side and their coach Abdullah Avci have been described as desperate to complete the deal ASAP.

Alioski is set to be offered £1.03million-per-year, which translates to just below £20,000, something we predict will be nowhere near as much as Leeds can offer.

This move would send Alioski closer to home, and it looks as though, unfortunately, he prefers a move away from Elland Road.

One in, one out.

With Alioski already out of the building, Junior Firpo looks to be the one who will be replacing him.

Mundo Deportivo has reported this morning that the Spaniard will complete the switch once the remaining paperwork is finalised.

That is a brilliant upgrade, and will only make Marcelo Bielsa’s better in the Premier League, especially given his ability to get forward.

According to Statsbomb, Firpo managed 9.12 progressive carries last season per game and loves bombing forward.

Should he defend better than Alioski, which isn’t hard, we could have sealed a masterclass this summer.

Watching Alioski leave is hard, and he will go down as a modern icon, but the time must come to upgrade our players, we have our sights on Europe now.
