'Extreme' - Deco makes bold Brazilian claim on Leeds winger Raphinha
Deco has claimed that there is no Brazilian player with the same characteristics as Leeds United winger Raphinha.
The Portuguese icon may be somewhat biased though, given that he is the agent of the new South American at Elland Road.
The 23-year-old is yet to earn his first start in the Premier League but did impress in his cameo in the 3-0 win at Aston Villa last week.
Deco has commented on the quick rise of Raphinha, claiming that numerous transfers could have harmed his progression.
“Raphinha is a warrior boy, with a difficult history, he won everything on the wrist and still wins, because he still has a long career ahead of him,” he told UOL.
“It is not easy for a player to transfer practically four times in an interval of two years, all because of his quality. Although we have many extremes in Brazilian football, I do not believe that there is another southpaw with his characteristics.”
Of course, Deco is going to support his client, and even we are big fans of Raphinha, but he can’t be serious with this claim.
Brazil is the home of fast and tricky players, and unless the Premier League legend forgot about players such as Neymar and others.
The 23-year-old is definitely going to go on to have a successful career at Elland Road under Marcelo Bielsa, and Deco seems confident that his player will go to the top of Brazilian football as well.
Not for one second do we believe he could reach Neymar’s talent, but if he gets anywhere close, Leeds will have one hell of a player on their hands.
