‘Expecting more’ – Neil Aspin slams Leeds ace Rodrigo for poor form since £27m move
Former Leeds defender Neil Aspin has blasted forward Rodrigo Moreno for his poor form since signing from Valencia, saying he “expected more”.
The Spanish international signed in a £27m move in the summer of 2020, but has managed just ten goals and three assists in 51 appearances for the club since.
After another defeat against Leicester at the weekend, where Rodrigo was hauled off after an hour, Aspin called in to BBC Radio Leeds and let rip on the 30-year-old.

“He is a player that was signed for a lot of money, has a big reputation”, he said.
“I’m not one who wants to criticise players, but he hasn’t done enough since he’s been here. We’re expecting more from him. Every time he starts a game, we are expecting something from him.
“He’s got some ability, but he hasn’t produced it often enough in a Leeds shirt.”
Poor
Rodrigo was brought in and was thought to be the leader of the Leeds Premier League push under Bielsa, but he has struggled in England.
He has plenty of energy and has shown his quality in the past at international level and in La Liga. It just hasn’t worked out for him at Elland Road.

At £27m he was the record signing at the club prior to Daniel James’ arrival, but he hasn’t shown nearly enough to justify that amount.
With Patrick Bamford likely to be fit again in the very near future after making the bench at the weekend, it’s most likely to be the Spaniard who loses his place in the starting lineup.
That shows just how poor he’s been in a white shirt that he can be discarded with relative ease despite his price tag, and fans have every right to demand more from him.
