Exclusive: Significant development in potential QSI takeover of Leeds

The talks between QSI and Leeds United are progressing well behind the scenes and there is now real potential for a deal, MOT Leeds News can reveal.

The potential takeover has been one of the biggest stories of an exciting season for Leeds, with Marcelo Bielsa and his side flying in the top-two of the Championship.

The Daily Star reported that Leeds were on the brink of accepting an initial £10m investment, with a £120m takeover to follow.

We previously revealed that the Qatar group wanted to buy more of Leeds than Andrea Radrizzani was willing to sell.

Now, a source close to QSI has told MOT Leeds News that talks with the club are progressing and that a breakthrough is on the cards. There is now real potential of a deal happening.

It’s no coincidence that this is happening now.

Leeds are on the brink of a sensational return to the top-flight after 15 seasons in League One and the Championship.

Leeds are second in the league but are 10 points ahead of third-placed Preston. They’re as low as 1/14 with the bookies to win promotion in Marcelo Bielsa’s second season in charge.

There are big plans if Leeds get promoted, including expansion of Elland Road and QSI are hovering with the sort of investment that owner Radrizzani said could take Leeds up to the level of Man City.

Leeds fans are understandably excited at the prospect of promotion and money to spend.

Investment has come a step closer with this news.
