Emma Jones mocks Robbie Savage after what she saw at Elland Road in Leeds United 1-1 draw v Leicester

Emma Jones was on hand to mock Robbie Savage prior to the Leeds United kick-off against Leicester City at Elland Road on Tuesday (25 April).

The Whites were stung late on in their 1-1 draw against the Foxes, with Jaime Vardy netting after Luis Sinisterra’s opener on the 20-minute mark.

The draw left Javi Gracia’s side just two points above the relegation zone with just five games of their Premier League season remaining.

Taking to Twitter prior to kick-off (25 April), Jones made a quip about Savage’s choice of attire when delivering his punditry services for BT Sport at the West Yorkshire ground.

“If you see Robbie Savage at Elland Road tonight can you let him know my Grandad wants his cardigan back,” she wrote.

Elland Road crucial

Leeds United still have home encounters against both Newcastle and Spurs to come in this Premier League season, and the support of the Elland Road faithful is going to be crucial to maintaining their top-flight status.

When at its roaring best, the West Yorkshire stadium can be one of the most feared places to travel in English football, and it really is a major feather in Leeds’ cap when harnessed in the correct fashion.

Throughout the game against the Foxes’, there was a fervent atmosphere that grew more and more nervous as the game progressed.

Eventually, this tense atmosphere told, with Vardy netting on the 80th-minute mark to draw the two relegation rivals level and leave both hoping that teams around them would slip up in their fight against relegation.

Hopefully, Gracia and his side can harness the Elland Road atmosphere in their remaining two league games and use it to survive relegation to the Championship.

In other Leeds United news, one pundit believes that some Whites players are still not over the Marcelo Bielsa hangover and continue to play like his teams did.
