Emma Jones celebrates Patrick Bamford milestone in Leeds win v West Brom

Leeds United finished their Premier League season with a bang on Sunday afternoon as they swept aside West Brom in a 3-1 win.

The Whites have been sensational since their return to the big time, and secured a ninth-placed finish after more than 16 years away.

One of the biggest success stories has been Patrick Bamford, who fired home his 17th goal of the season from the penalty spot yesterday.

Emma Jones, a big favourite among the Leeds fans, celebrated the success of her fellow podcast host on her personal Twitter account, as he smashed home yet another goal.

“17 Goals,” she wrote very enthusiastically.

Perfect.

At the start of this season, there were many pundits, including our very own David O’Leary, who questioned if Bamford was even good enough for the Premier League.

The Whites talisman has more than proved himself, firing home 17 goals and finishing as the fourth top goalscorer in the entire division.

Leeds responded to those claims from the beginning of the season in perfect fashion on Monday, simply insisting that Bamford is more than good enough.

The season may not be over for Bamford, though.

Gareth Southgate announces his England squad for the EUROs tomorrow afternoon, and it would be the perfect end for our striker if he was included alongside Kalvin Phillips.

Why wouldn’t he be?

Bamford has scored more goals than Ollie Watkins, Jamie Vardy, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Danny Ings, Michail Antonio and Callum Wilson, he has destroyed the competition.
