Eleven Sports journalist Luca Fiorino has posted a transfer update as Leeds United attempt to sign Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul.
It was reported on Sunday night that Leicester had joined the race for the Argentina international. [Gianluigi Longari]
Fiorino repeated this claim but said that while the competition “has increased” for De Paul, Leeds remain in pole position to sign him.
The other bit of good news for Leeds is that Fiorino claims that there have been “No concrete bids” for De Paul from either Juventus or any other Serie A club.

Big hope for Leeds
The Leicester interest in De Paul caused a fair amount of worry among Leeds fans on Twitter.
However, this update, from Fiorino, should help.
If De Paul’s agent is trying to smoke out interest from Italy, it doesn’t seem to be working at the moment.
De Paul has been left out of both of Udinese’s pre-season friendlies but they don’t have the same imperative to push for a quick deal.
Udinese don’t play their first game in Serie A until September 27, with another friendly scheduled for this Sunday when they face Venezia.
Leeds kick off their Premier League campaign on Saturday although even if De Paul signs this week he would be extremely unlikely to be involved.
Bielsa likes to coach his players thoroughly in his system before unleashing them in the first team and it could be that De Paul has to play with the Under-23s before making his Premier League bow.
That might be something he’s not used to but Bielsa doesn’t change his methods for anyone.
