Early Leeds United team news v Brentford: Six ruled out, big Patrick Bamford update - Injury Expert

Leeds United are set to be without six players for their final day Premier League showdown against Brentford, according to Ben Dinnery.

The injury expert has shared that Tyler Roberts, Adam Forshaw, Crysencio Summerville and Stuart Dallas are all “ruled out” with their long-standing injuries.

Dan James and Luke Ayling are also suspended, but there could be some positive news regarding the fitness of Patrick Bamford for Jesse Marsch.

Dinnery shares that the England international has a 50% chance of starting the game against the Bees, in what would be a huge boost.

Bamford’s potential return date is also chalked in as this Sunday [22 May], meaning he could, at least, be in the squad for the relegation decider.

Marsch has always insisted that Bamford was aiming for the final two games of the season after his foot injury, but after missing the draw with Brighton, fears certainly grew.

Now all eyes are on Sunday in the capital.

Fingers crossed.

Having Bamford available could be huge.

Even if the striker is at 75%, he simply has to play, whether that be one-half starting, or in the final half an hour coming off the bench at Brentford.

Rodrigo had yet another shocker on Sunday, and Joe Gelhardt wasn’t amazing until his last-minute moment of magic rescued a point that could keep us in the Premier League alone.

Bamford brings something that neither of that duo have, and that is a presence in the final third that will have defenders consistently panicking.

The talisman proved that when coming off the bench to rescue a point in the reverse fixture with Brentford at Elland Road, and he will hope to be in their nightmares yet again on the final day.

Marsch has to be brave with his selection on what could be a huge afternoon, and if that means bringing Bamford in, that simply has to happen – bring it on.
