Dion Dublin baffled by Illan Meslier and Marc Roca as Leeds United win 4-2 v Wolves
Dion Dublin was left baffled by Illan Meslier and Marc Roca after the Leeds United duo were involved in a second-half incident during the 4-2 win over Wolves.
Meslier was caught off his line as Jonny placed an audacious volley over the Frenchman’s head with the Whites 3-0 up at Molineux (18 March).
Dublin was also left perplexed at Roca who gifted the ball to the 29-year-old Spaniard in the lead-up to the goal.
“I mean, I don’t know what the keeper’s doing here, to be honest with you,” said Dublin (Match of the Day, 18 March, 19m35s)
“Stay on your line. But what’s Roca doing? I don’t know where he’s trying to pass this ball, it goes straight to Jonny, Jonny assesses the situation and it’s a fantastic finish.”

The finish from Jonny does deserve credit. He’s managed to place it, first time, in the perfect position to get the home side on the scoreboard. It’s moments like this where the players need to show signs of being able to manage a game. There was no reason for Meslier to come and head the ball.
Leeds were three goals to the good and could have seen the game out easily if they had been disciplined in their work. They got away with it on this occasion, but moments like this will cost them between now and the end of the season.
However, it’s hard not to be positive when looking at the result. Leeds were good in the second half and the three points could be absolutely vital come the end of the season. With a trip to Arsenal on the horizon a win was a must.
The victory has propelled Leeds up to 14th in the table, just one point behind Wolves. Due to the tight-knit nature of the relegation battle a run of wins will be vital. The back-to-back home fixtures against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace could well be a decisive set of fixtures for Gracia’s side.
