‘Different class’ – Liam Cooper blown away by rarely-used Leeds ace v Burnley

Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper has shared his delight over the performance of Pascal Struijk in the 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites captain was ruled out against the Clarets at Elland Road after picking up an abdominal strain against Manchester United last week.

Struijk was brought into the defence alongside Luke Ayling and Kalvin Phillips, helping to keep an important clean-sheet.

The Dutch colossal took to his personal Instagram account after the game, celebrating the three points and finally keeping a clean-sheet.

Cooper replied in the comments, and he admitted that he was blown away by the performance of his rarely-seen replacement.

“Different class, mate,” he said.

Struijk was immense on Sunday.

Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes have bullied some of the best Premier League defenders, but the 21-year-old held his own and dominated the pair of them.

The Dutch youngster won four of his aerial battles according to WhoScored, as well as winning two tackles and three interceptions – he has only won more in the opening day clash with Liverpool.

Struijk is expected to stay in the Whites defence tomorrow when they travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom with Diego Llorente missing.
