David Norris believes Marcelo Bielsa signing new Leeds United deal will be massive

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has entered the final days of his current contract at Elland Road.

However, the club are confident that the Argentine will soon put pen to paper on an extension like he did last summer.

The Leeds boss only signed a one-year on the night before his side’s Premier League opener against Liverpool.

The 2021-22 campaign for the Whites kicks off on August 14 with a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

Ex-Leeds star David Norris claims that both parties have already agreed to terms of a new deal, insisting Bielsa’s extension is a massive signing for the club.

“I don’t think it was going to be a big deal, Bielsa never said it was, so if he was going to stay, he was going to stay,” the pundit told Transfer Tavern.

“It just wasn’t on his list of priorities. I have heard from inside that he’s agreed his deal, it’s just a matter of time before it comes out, and that’s a massive signing for Leeds.”

Huge news

We cannot wait for Bielsa to officially sign the new deal, and Leeds fans all over the world would be very excited once it happens.

The Argentine has established himself as a legend and hero at Elland Road after just three seasons, and most clubs in the Premier League are probably casting envious glances at us.

Leeds have continued to go about their transfer business, and that indicates that the 65-year-old is staying beyond this summer.

In his 31 years as a manager, this is the only time Bielsa has spent three years at any club.

He spent just two days at Lazio, and there is no doubt that he feels at home in Yorkshire.

The Leeds project is definitely an exciting one for him, and we are looking forward to more years with him on his bucket at Elland Road.

Having finished ninth last term, El Loco is probably thinking of breaking into the top-six, and we are eagerly waiting for the new season to start.
