David Anderson: Leeds have not renewed January interest in Norwich star Todd Cantwell
Leeds United are not looking to sign Norwich City playmaker Todd Cantwell in January, according to David Anderson.
The Mirror journalist has reported that despite having watched the Englishman, Victor Orta has not renewed his interest.
Cantwell is said to be available for £15million, but he won’t be making the switch to Elland Road before the January deadline.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Anderson shared the latest on the Whites’ potential interest in the playmaker.
“It is also my understanding that Leeds have not renewed their interest in Norwich’s Todd Cantwell,” he wrote.
“Leeds have looked at him previously, but the midfielder is not a target for this window.”
Cantwell is not the type of player Leeds need right now.
We need players who are willing to put everything on the line of the club in the next handful of months in the Premier League.
The Norwich attacker doesn’t do that and has been more than happy to sit on the sidelines and watch at Carrow Road this season.
Not to mention the £15million it would supposedly take to bring him to Elland Road, it makes no sense.
The 23-year-old has only completed 441 minutes this season, failing to register a single goal or assist [WhoScored].
Adding the fact that his contract is up in the summer, Norwich demanding that type of money is ludicrous.
Time to look elsewhere, Victor Orta.
