Darren Bent waxes lyrical over Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford
Darren Bent claims that Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford continues proving his doubters wrong after his recent stoppage-time heroics.
He came off the bench last weekend to salvage a 2-2 draw against Brentford and Bent was awestruck by what he saw of the 28-year-old.
This was his first game back after injury, but he did not let that stop him from doing what he does best, putting the ball into the back of the net.

Discussing this goal and his overall impact, Bent, a Sky Sports pundit, said on the Premier League’s Kelly & Wrighty show, “What a goal that was. He’s a finisher I admire. I love him. He’s such a big player.
“People used to doubt him but now they know how important he is.”
Silencing the haters
There were so many hit pieces written on Bamford after Leeds United secured promotion to the Premier League.
After a rather underwhelming campaign in the Championship prior that, many doubted the quality of the Leeds forward.
Before the season began, he was the laughing stock for most who failed to take him seriously.

However, he proved everyone wrong from the very first game of the season which was the home of the defending champions Liverpool.
Since then, he’s been putting the ball into the back of the net regularly and Marcelo Bielsa has found an ideal striker in the England international.
Not only does he score a lot, he also presses with the utmost perfection and knows how the lead the press for the Whites.
