Daniel James suggests Leeds United are confident ahead of massive fixtures

Leeds United are facing three massive Premier League games, but Daniel James has suggested that they are confident.

The Whites face rivals Manchester United at Elland Road on Sunday (20 February) followed by games against Liverpool and Tottenham.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are heading into this match on the back of a shocking 3-0 defeat against Everton.

James has suggested that they may have put themselves under a bit of pressure but there is confidence within the squad.

The Wales winger said, as quoted by Yorkshire Evening Post: “We are looking forward to them. We have got obviously three games next week as the Liverpool game has been put in between.

“It’s the games we play for, we have maybe put a little bit more pressure on from not getting a result from this game but we are all confident going into it.”

Massive games

Bielsa has used James as a striker in the absence of Patrick Bamford and he has done well.

At Aston Villa, he scored his third and fourth goal since moving from Old Trafford for a reported fee of £25m (Sky Sports) in the summer.

James will now face his former club on Sunday, and he will be looking to produce a strong performance.

The Red Devils are going through a patchy form, and it’s ideal time for Leeds to knock them a huge blow.

In the corresponding fixture, Leeds suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat at Old Trafford, but it would be a different game at Elland Road.

Leeds are fighting for survival, and they can hardly afford to let their opponents run over them easily.

On their day, Leeds are capable of beating any side, but this has been a season of inconsistency for them, coupled with injury issues.

Losing key players like Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips and Bamford have hurt them badly, while Stuart Dallas is also doubtful for the weekend.
