Daniel Farke shares if Guilavogui can make Leeds United debut v Plymouth
Daniel Farke has revealed that he would not be hesitant to field Josuha Guilavogui for Leeds United against Plymouth this weekend.
Speaking ahead of the Whites’ Championship clash with Plymouth at Elland Road on Saturday (2 November), the manager said that he has been pleased with what he has seen from Guilavogui so far.
Farke added that the midfielder is edging closer to attaining match fitness before hinting that he could feature against Wayne Rooney’s side.
“He has fulfilled, over-filled, expectations. Since he arrived he’s joined us in each and every team training”, Farke told a press conference, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post (31 October).
“Sometimes we have tough sessions which are difficult. So professional in how he prepares for training, looks after himself in the gym after training.
“He’s edging closer. Wouldn’t be scared if I would need him to play.
“On the other hand, defensive-wise we’ve looked unbelievably strong in the last games. I’m not forced to rush him into the team but it’s definitely beneficial to have him available.”
Josuha Guilavogui eases Daniel Farke’s tensions at Leeds United
Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have done exceptionally well in the middle of the park for Leeds United in Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev’s absence.
However, Guilavogui’s availability makes life easier for Farke, who would want to rest the aforementioned players once in a while to avoid further injuries.
The Frenchman’s experience, coupled with his ability to play in multiple positions, including defence, makes him an interesting option for Farke.
Tanaka and Rothwell are expected to keep their place in their starting lineup, but going by Farke’s words, it would not be a surprise to see the new signing come off the bench.

Leeds United notably roped in Guilavogui for free last week in an emergency transfer after Ampadu and Gruev’s injuries.
Having been without a club since leaving Mainz in the summer, it would not make sense to rush him into the starting lineup either.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have been tipped to sign this player as a replacement for Georginio Rutter.
