Daniel Farke backed to make Meslier decision for Leeds United game v Harrogate
Daniel Farke looks set to drop Illan Meslier from his Leeds United starting XI for their FA Cup clash against Harrogate on Saturday (11 January), according to TEAMtalk.
The online outlet reported via their website (7 January) that the German is “likely” to hand the Wales international Karl Darlow a rarely seen appearance.
The report also adds that this could be a chance for the goalkeeper to “stake his claim” for the starting spot within the West Yorkshire outfit’s XI.
Karl Darlow has a chance to prove his worth to Daniel Farke and Leeds United
Although Darlow has seemed more than happy to be a backup for the Frenchman, it feels like this could really be his time to shine.
The 31-year-old has recently been called up to Craig Bellamy’s Wales squad and has often got in over Danny Ward between the sticks.
While he hasn’t played much of a starring role in Leeds’ campaign this season, it feels like he could do a better job than what Meslier has over the last couple of months.
While one blunder would be somewhat forgivable, the fact that he’s been at the centre of the Whites dropping so many points to the likes of Sunderland, Preston and now Hull shows that the 24-year-old is just costing this side far too much and needs to be taken out the team.

Farke’s men seem to be on course to earn Premier League promotion this season and if they do regain their top-flight status, Meslier would no doubt be one of the main reasons behind their relegation, if they were to come straight back down.
Which, is evidently a far from ideal situation for all the involved parties.
In other Leeds news, Farke could be set to sanction an exit for another Leeds star in January.
