Crystal Palace man sends Josuha Guilavogui message after Leeds United announcement
Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix has sent Josuha Guilavogui a new message after he completed his move to Leeds United.
Daniel Farke’s side confirmed the signing of the former Mainz man on a contract until the end of the season on Wednesday (23 October) after both Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev were ruled out with injury.
While the news has been well-received by Whites supporters, Lacroix was also quick to “welcome” the Frenchman to English football having played alongside him during his time at Wolfsburg.
Taking to his Instagram story on Wednesday (23 October) the Palace defender shared an image of Guilavogui in Leeds colours with the caption: “Bienvenue et bon courage grand frere” which translates to: “Welcome and good luck big brother”.
Why have Leeds United completed Josuha Guilavogui transfer at Elland Road?
Several big-name footballers have been quick to message and congratulate Guilavogui after his move to Elland Road and it is clear the midfielder is a popular figure among his former teammates.
While the primary concern for Farke and his recruitment team this summer will have been finding a player capable of stepping into Ampadu and Gruev’s shoes, it is just as important they find the right character for this changing room.
Although there are some big names in Farke’s side, there appears to be unity across the squad with the players willing to fight for one another. Leeds United couldn’t risk upsetting that dynamic by offering the wrong free agent a contract.

Hopefully, Guilavogui will have what it takes to offer a new dimension to the side in the middle of the park.
Although both Joe Rothwell and Ethan Ampadu have impressed so far this term, a bit more depth will not go amiss.
The Championship season tends to be long and gruelling and it would be naive of Leeds to assume that they are capable of pushing for the automatic promotion places with just two first-team options at their disposal.
