Crysencio Summerville discusses Leeds United fans

Leeds United starlet Crysencio Summerville has been blown away by the level of support he has received.

Speaking to NOS ahead of his debut for the Dutch Under-21s, the 20-year-old discussed life at Elland Road and praised the fans.

Summerville claims that he can’t go for a quiet meal anywhere because the fans recognise him, despite him only making four first-team appearances.

He said: “Walking through the city is all about Leeds United. Every home game is also sold out. The fans are so fanatical. When you’re a player, everyone recognises you in the city. I can’t have a quiet meal or a drink somewhere.

“It’s more like: wow, this is happening to me. I have to cherish it.”

Nice words from Summerville.

This is a nice interview with Summerville, and he seems to be loving life with the Whites.

Given that Ian Poveda has left the club on loan, Summerville has stepped in as Leeds’ fourth first-team winger.

Now, this has only led to him playing for 68 minutes in the Premier League, but he has made huge progress over the summer as he ended the 2020/21 season behind Poveda in the pecking order.

Therefore, the winger has already pushed himself and looks to have a big future ahead of him, and he speaks very well here.

The Whites have a lot of talented youngsters in their various youth squads, but it does appear as if Summerville is one of the better ones, and hopefully, we get to see more of him in the first team as the season progresses.

Leeds fans are clearly big fans of Summerville, and the feeling seems to be reciprocated, which is great to see.
