Confirmed: Crysencio Summerville update shared as three ruled out for Leeds United clash v Huddersfield Town

Daniel Farke has confirmed that Crysencio Summerville is available for Leeds United’s clash with Huddersfield on Saturday, but three players are out.

Summerville was left out of the team in midweek for the defeat to Stoke as Farke rotated his squad, revealing after the game that he has been playing with painkillers and shoulder strapping in recent weeks.

But Farke expects him to be available to play at Elland Road in the Yorkshire derby, but he will still be without defenders Leo Hjelde, Stuart Dallas, Djed Spence and Junior Firpo.

“I’m sure in a few weeks he will be able to play three games in a week, but after the start to the season he has had [fitness-wise] we have to be careful,” he said. “But I wouldn’t say he’s a doubt for tomorrow.

“There are always a few knock and kicks after the game and with a quick turnaround you always have to make some less decisions.

“But what I can confirm, everyone [from midweek] is available yes.”

Make a stand

This is a chance for Daniel Farke to really back his squad and stand by the players who played well in midweek despite the defeat.

Ilia Gruev was good while Ethan Ampadu and Archie Gray both looked exhausted, meaning the manager shouldn’t be worried about resting players and rotating again.

Luke Ayling and Crysencio Summerville are also ready to come back into the team, and the manager shouldn’t be scared of putting out some others like Charlie Cresswell or Liam Cooper for the sake of fresh faces and squad morale.

With that said though he clearly has a preferred lineup that he wants to go with if he can, and after defeat to Stoke a win against Huddersfield at Elland Road is very important so he will go with the strongest team he can.

We have a strong squad and fantastic options, so the manager should be able to use them whenever he needs to and not worry about the performance levels dropping off.
