Cody Drameh compares Leeds duo with Manchester United legends
Leeds United youngster Cody Drameh has compared blossoming duo Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood to the famous Manchester United partnership of Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole.
Both Yorke and Cole are Premier League legends, and they forged a great partnership in the 1999 season when United won the treble of Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League.
Drameh has been brilliant for Leeds, and he got his chance to impress Marcelo Bielsa for the senior team this term. He impressed against Arsenal in the FA Cup and has played twice now in the last week.
However, his teammates for the Under-23 side shone on Tuesday night though Leeds were knocked out of the EFL trophy at Salford.
Despite the defeat, the duo of Greenwood and Gelhart impressed heavily. Greenwood posted an image of the pair on Instagram, to which Drameh replied – “Yorke and Cole”.
Gelhardt joined from Wigan, while Greenwood made the switch from Arsenal in the summer of 2020. Both have got massive potentials and are billed as future stars for the club.

Of course, Drameh was exaggerating here by comparing the youngsters to the legendary partnership of Yorke and Cole, but what he meant is that they combine really well together, as if they have some sort of a telepathic understanding.
The duo has impressed heavily for Mark Jackson’s Under-23 side, and their combination has been a joy to watch.
Gelhardt, especially, loves to drop deep into central midfield and create chances. Against Salford, he laid on two assists, including one for Greenwood.
In other Leeds United news, Victor Orta has revealed some insight into working with Marcelo Bielsa.
