Club Brugge to sign replacement for Leeds United-bound Senne Lammens

Club Brugge are set to sign a replacement for Senne Lammens who is on his way to join Leeds United, as reported by Belgium outlet HLN.

Writing on their live blog (13 January, 11:17), HLN report that Brugge has acquired the signing of Joe Bursik from Stoke City. The 22-year-old is already in Belgium to undergo his medical tests.

He comes as a replacement for Lammens who is close to joining the Whites.

Lammens has a contract at Brugge until the end of the season, but it appears that he hasn’t agreed a pre-contract with Leeds. It looks like a direct transfer, which means the Whites must have secured his signature on a cut-price deal, keeping his contract in mind.

On fire

Wow. Lammens could become the third major signing for the Whites this month and there could be more arrivals if the club decide to add a new midfielder.

The Whites have already signed Max Wober from Red Bull Salzburg and they are close to completing the signing of Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter after a deal has been agreed.

Lammens, 20, has barely featured for Brugge, as he is behind former Liverpool goalkeeper, Simon Mignolet, in the pecking order.

The club didn’t want to let him go, but with game time hard to come by to decided to move to Leeds.

Ilan Meslier has been linked with a move away for a while now, but it is unlikely that he will leave the club in January.

Lammens could be a long-term replacement for the Frenchman but it’s too early to say at the moment.

It is most likely that he will feature for the Under-21 side. The club could allow Kristoffer Klaesson to leave on loan as well, which could make sense here.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are one step away from completing exciting January signing, according to a reliable journalist.
