Clinton Morrison brands Marc Roca 'naughty' for incident in Leeds United draw with Leicester City

Clinton Morrison has slammed Marc Roca after the Leeds United midfielder produced a “naughty” tackle on James Maddison during the Whites’ 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

Luis Sinisterra’s first-half header was cancelled out by a composed Jamie Vardy finish to leave both teams languishing towards the bottom of the Premier League table.

It was a tough night for Roca in the heart of Leeds’ midfield and Morrison was less than impressed with a second-half challenge from the Spaniard on the England star.

“Leeds should be 2-0 up. Rodrigo took an extra touch. But that was a naughty challenge on Maddison [from Roca],” said the Sky Sports pundit (Sky Sports, 21:12pm, 25 April).

Chance missed

Considering the chances Leeds created towards the end of the game, this was a huge opportunity missed from Javi Gracia’s side. Patrick Bamford should’ve scored in the latter stages and Roca missed a guilt edge chance from a corner.

In fact, it was a tough night on the whole for the former Bayern Munich man. It was a hectic and frantic fixture, and the 26-year-old gave the ball away far too often. Leeds needed a cool head in the centre of the park, but neither of Roca or Weston McKennie were the answer.

All eyes now turn to the South Coast and the clash with Bournemouth on Sunday (26 April). The Cherries are certainly not out of trouble yet after their damaging defeat to West Ham United in their last fixture. A win for the Whites would see Leeds leapfrog their hosts and put a tiny bit of daylight between themselves and the bottom three.

In other Leeds United news, one pundit believes that some Whites players are still not over the Marcelo Bielsa hangover and continue to play like his teams did.
