Chris Sutton drools over Leeds atmosphere at Elland Road on Twitter
Chris Sutton has picked out Elland Road and Leeds United as one of his favourite grounds in the Premier League.
After covering Everton at Goodison Park in their big 2-1 win over Arsenal last night (6th December), the BBC pundit had a special mention for the Whites.
With new stadiums such as Spurs taking most of the headlines, Sutton saved a special mention for Elland Road and those that make matchdays so special.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Sutton picked out Elland Road for the atmosphere created by fans during games.
“Great to cover Everton at a rocking Goodison tonight,” he wrote. “Brilliant goal to win it from the talented Demarai Gray.
“Some noise when that went in. I love Spurs new stadium but there is something special about the old school grounds like Goodison and Elland Road.”
Elland Road has easily created the best atmosphere in the Premier League already this season, and no one can argue with that.
Go back to that draw against Wolves and how the crowd pushed the lads on to pick up that last-gasp point through Rodrigo’s penalty.
You know throw in the winner against Crystal Palace and Sunday’s (5th December) draw against Brentford and it was electric.
Having visited the likes of Spurs, you just don’t get that from those fans in the huge new grounds – they were simply quiet for 90% of the game.
The 49ers are bound to make Elland Road even bigger in years to come, and just imagine how much better and louder matchdays are set to become – we already can’t wait to hear that roar.
