Paul Merson has claimed that Leeds United will start to steamroller teams as the Premier League season progresses.
It was only last week that the Sky Sports pundit was complaining about the Whites and how easy they are to beat after defeats against Palace and Leicester.
The 0-0 draw against Arsenal changed his mind though, as Leeds did everything but score against an established Gunners outfit.
Speaking on Gillette Soccer Saturday, Merson admitted he has changed his mind on the Whites and is quickly becoming a big fan.
“Personally, I thought they weren’t as good as what I thought they were at the start,” he said.
“I’ve gone the other way now, I think they’re a good team. I like the way they play, the run Arsenal ragged, they were better at every aspect of the game. I just like watching them.
“I like Leeds, I think they’re dangerous. I think they’ll cause problems as the season goes on – I think they’ll steamroller teams, I don’t see them in a relegation battle.
“I’ve changed my tune.”
This is a prediction that every Leeds fan will love.
It is only time before the Whites destroy someone, and it should have come against Arsenal, with the Londoners lucky not to lose by at-least four goals.
Leeds kept 66.3% possession, had 25 shots on goal and even hit the woodwork on three separate occasions.
If that happens again later at Goodison Park, Merson’s prediction of a demolition job could come true only hours after it was made.
Everton were poor against Fulham despite their win, and the Whites must get ready to take advantage should it happen again in Merseyside.
