CBS journalist gushes over Javi Gracia 'Masterclass' after Leeds United 4-2 win v Wolves
Javi Gracia has been praised for his managerial “masterclass” in Leeds United’s 4-2 win over Wolves by CBS journalist Jake Winderman.
The Whites battled hard to claim a huge three points against a relegation rival at Molineux on Saturday (18 March), moving them out of the relegation zone and into 14th place in the Premier League table.
And after the manager brought off Wilfried Gnonto and replaced him with Rasmus Kristensen at 2-0 up there were some eyebrows raised, before the Dane scored just 22 seconds later to make it 3-0.
That earned the boss some high praise from Winderman, who admitted that he initially doubted the decision but he now believes in Gracia’s thinking.
“This is a Javi Gracia Masterclass,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (18 March).
“Kristensen scores after only being on the pitch for 22 seconds.

“Thought the Gnonto sub was an interesting decision, but he clearly knows what he’s doing.”
Game management
Something Marcelo Bielsa and Jesse Marsch were constantly criticised for during their time in charge at Elland Road was their lack of in-game management.
Whether it was not knowing when to shut up shop and hold on to a lead, or when to defend to stop a thumping, it’s clearly something that Gracia is big on.
His substitutions during the game at Molineux were a big part in getting the win because even at 3-0 Wolves kept coming forward and eventually got themselves two goals to make it a nervy ending.
But defensively the team was prepared and they weren’t committing too many players forward, making it clear that they needed to concentrate and hold on to what they had.
They successfully navigated the rest of the game and got a massive three points to really help their chances of survival, and can now work during the international break to ensure that momentum isn’t lost.
