BT Sport pundit shares stories he’s heard about Crysencio Summerville at Leeds United training
BT Sport pundit Tony Dorigo has been hugely impressed by Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville this season, hearing “lots of good stories” about the youngster in training.
Summerville was signed from Eredivisie club Feyenoord in September 2020, and has gone on to make 32 appearances for the Whites.
The young winger has featured 23 times in all competitions for Leeds in the current season, registering four goals and two assists.

“I like the look of Summerville this season,” Dorigo wrote on tonydorigo.com. “He has such good composure and confidence on the ball as a young player.
“A lot of players in tight areas don’t like to play quickly, or their composure doesn’t quite allow them to, but Summerville is very happy to take the ball under pressure. He has the ability to get out of those areas with great skill.
“I’ve heard lots of good stories about him on the training ground; people last year were saying, ‘wow, this kid has great ability,’ and he hadn’t quite transferred that onto the pitch, but this season, we’re seeing him in the first team. He’s clearly got something about him, and we’re seeing what it is.”

Time to push on
At 21, Summerville has a very bright career ahead of him, having proven his worth in a Leeds shirt earlier this season when he scored in four successive Premier League games.
But perhaps the winger and indeed his manager will want the goals and assists figures to rise between now and the end of the season.
As mentioned, the attacker is still young, but various other youngsters throughout the Premier League are doing much more damage in the final third.
Summerville did register an assist in his nine-minute cameo against Wolves earlier this month, as well as netting for the Netherlands Under-21s against Norway on Saturday (25 March), meaning he should be full of confidence going into the next match.
That next match is, however, a hugely tough test against league leaders Arsenal on Saturday (1 April).
With Willy Gnonto’s Leeds career increasingly uncertain, Summerville could be tasked with stepping into a very prominent role next season if the former does exit Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, attacker Brenden Aaronson has been included in WhoScored’s top 10 list of Premier League players to have suffered the biggest rating decrease since the 2022 World Cup.
