BT Sport pundit predicts result of Leeds United Premier League clash v Nottingham Forest

Joleon Lescott has predicted Leeds United to share the spoils with Nottingham Forest when the two sides take on each other in the Premier League.

Both sides have made multiple signings in the January transfer window and will now be looking to integrate them into the first team.

Leeds and Forest both find themselves on the wrong side of the table despite being among the biggest spenders this season.

Lescott, a BT Sport pundit, told Livescore, “This game could have a huge impact on both teams, with Jesse Marsch needing a positive result more than Steve Cooper.

“Marsch has been backed in the transfer market but needs to deliver the goods now and I could still see the Whites being dragged into the relegation battle.

“This one should be entertaining but I can see it ending in a draw.

Prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-2 Leeds.”

Must win

No qualms about it, this is a must-win encounter for Leeds and the need to treat it as such.

Forest are also in a relegation battle as things stand and a win here would seem them drive further away from the chasing pack.

It’s important for Jesse Marsch too that Leeds get back to winning ways and build some momentum as they’re just a point away from the drop zone.

A loss here coupled with results elsewhere going against them could see the Whites ending the weekend in the bottom three and that certainly puts a lot of pressure on the manager.

We’re not suggesting that Marsch will be sacked, but Marcelo Bielsa was sacked before they even were in the bottom three.

With a takeover set to happen at the end of the season, Leeds being in the Championship will mean that a fair chunk of their valuation will be slashed and it’s not something Andrea Radrizzani would want.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now preparing to sign a former Barcelona defender in the summer and have already taken decisive steps towards sealing the deal.
