Bruno Fernandes sends Instagram message to Raphinha after winger seals £17m Leeds transfer
Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has welcomed Raphinha to the Premier League after Leeds United signed the winger on deadline day.
Leeds officially confirmed Raphinha’s £17million switch to Elland Road from Rennes not long before the international transfer deadline passed at 11pm.
The 23-year-old Brazlian took to his personal Instagram account to share his delight at joining the Whites, saying: “Very happy for this new challenge in my career. Thank you very much everyone involved.”
As expected, a lot of Leeds fans replied to Raphinha’s post but rather out of the blue, Man United midfielder Fernandes was among them.
Writing in Portuguese, the Portugal international said: “Welcome to the Premier League, brother.”
Raphinha and Fernandes briefly played together at Sporting CP, which was Raphinha’s last club before he joined Rennes last year.

The 23-year-old has never really spent a long time at any of the clubs he’s played for in the early stages of his career but we hope this four-year contract at Elland Road means that we will get some longevity out of the tricky Brazilian winger.
Raphinha promises to add a lot of pace to the Leeds attack as they continue what has been an impressive start to the new Premier League season.
As seen on Sunday as Raphinha made his final appearance for Rennes in their 2-2 draw with Reims, the Brazilian ace is able to use his devastating pace to burst forward into the attacking third and get himself on the scoresheet.

It’s going to be tough for Raphinha to take Helder Costa’s spot in the starting line-up but based on what we saw of the Brazilian at the weekend, he could be a great impact substitute.
