Brentford Super Fan shares Stuart Dallas fears ahead of Leeds United clash

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Super Fans on upcoming Leeds United games. Ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game against Brentford, we caught up with Alex Cole @alexrcole, a Bee supporter.

Leeds United host Brentford later today (5 December) and will be aiming to make it back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time in 2021-22.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side picked up their third win of the campaign against Crystal Palace on Tuesday (30 November), and they have been handed injury boosts with both Patrick Bamford and Luke Ayling expected to see action against the London side.

Another win will see them move further away from the relegation places, and the Whites will fancy their chances against the struggling Bees.

Ahead of the clash, we spoke with Alex Cole @alexrcole, a Brentford supporter to gauge the mood amongst the opposition supporters.

What have you made of Leeds so far this season?

Obviously not doing as well as last year, and for a moment I thought they might get dragged into the relegation battle.

Like Brentford, loads of injuries have made it difficult for Leeds.

Probably looking at a 14th placed finish, but I imagine that based on the potential of the squad, that will be disappointing for the fans.

Who will cause you the biggest issues?

Raphinha is the obvious pick but Stuart Dallas is an ex-Bee and seems to have some resentment for Brentford and will no doubt raise his game.

Kalvin Philips is one of the best players I’ve seen in the flesh and he tore us a new one last time we played each other at Griffin Park, so him too!

What have you made of your season so far?

Doing fairly well, but injuries have left us wondering where we could have been had we kept all players fit.

Sometimes it clicks for us like against Chelsea and Liverpool, but other times we look a bit lethargic like we did against Tottenham Hotspur.

If you believe in XG, then you’d say that we’ve been a little unlucky.

Who should Leeds watch out for?

Ivan Toney is exceptional. He’s everywhere. A total footballer. Brilliant in every position and a lethal finisher.

Most Bees would probably agree that he should be in the England setup, and if he scores a few more this season I can see him getting the call-up.

If you could see your club sign one player from Leeds who would it be and why?

We lack creativity at the moment, so we’d probably take Adam Forshaw, although it might not go down that well with Bees fans.

Is Thomas Frank likely to make any big changes to the side?

We could see Yoane Wissa start instead of Mbeumo as Bryan has been very wasteful in front of goal for us this season.

If he could finish the chances he gets, we’d be in the European places.

Having said that, he wouldn’t be playing for Brentford if he could finish and torment defences the way he does.

Are there any particular weak links in the Brentford side you fear may get exposed?

Our current right-back – Sergi Canos is normally a right winger and whilst he’s had a good season, he has been caught out a bit of late being out of position.

Score prediction/what type of game will we see?

I imagine both teams will go for it, so I’d go 2-2, or 3-3.

In other Leeds United news, a major update on Whites January bid to sign attacker has been provided, with pen-to-paper imminent.
