Beren Cross: Leeds United have five-to-six positive COVID-19 cases as Thorp Arch closes
Leeds United have become the latest Premier League side to be hit by a COVID-19 outbreak this week.
The Whites have confirmed that the trip to Liverpool on Boxing Day has been postponed, with the game against Aston Villa also at doubt.
Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross has shared that the club has posted five-to-six positive COVID-19 tests this week.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Cross shared an insight into the problems at Thorp Arch this week.
“Leeds United’s trip to Liverpool postponed,” he wrote. “Five to six Covid cases coupled with the injury issues mean the visitors can’t field a team.
“The training ground at Thorp Arch will be closed for a period of two days on the advice of Public Health England.”
Outbreak.
Well, it looks as though Leeds could literally have no players to choose from this week with injuries also a huge problem.
Marcelo Bielsa could nearly name a starting XI of injured players at Elland Road, so add that to the COVID findings and there is literally nearly nobody left.
Diego Llorente was the first hint of the virus this week as he was struck by “illness” but it hasn’t been confirmed whether it is COVID.
It has come at the perfect time if there is one, though, and it gives the squad a real chance to recover during the busiest time of the year.
In what could be a motivation to the squad, they will also get to spend Christmas with their families, and hopefully, that gets them fired up for the return – bring it on.
