Beren Cross: Leeds begin major Thorp Arch redevelopment
Leeds United have started work on their Thorp Arch pitches this week with only one month to go until pre-season starts once again.
Beren Cross has shared the update, with two pitches being dug up to be replaced as Marcelo Bielsa prepares yet another gruelling summer for his players.
This is the most important part of the season under El Loco, as he looks to attract bigger and better players to his squad in the transfer window.
Cross has been in contact with groundsman Stefan Jones, who shared the update only two days after the final day victory over West Brom.
The Leeds Live journalist shared the update on his personal Twitter account this morning, as the Whites put last season’s success behind them already.
“Pre-season is just over a month away,” he said.
“Thorp Arch’s pitches have already been gutted. No time like the present. Such a tight turnaround.”

Change.
It has been a year of severe changes in West Yorkshire.
Andrea Radrizzani has proved himself as an amazing owner in his four years at the club and has already made huge moves to improve Elland Road.
The main pitch is already being changed, with the floodlights and different facilities also being upgraded since our promotion back to the big time.
Thorp Arch has been upgraded in recent years as our academy hit category one status, and a couple of new pitches will only help that.
It is hard not to love everything to do with the Whites at this moment in time, as we finally have an owner who is doing everything to get us back to the top; these little steps certainly count.
