Ben White comments on Leeds and Elland Road atmosphere

Ben White has admitted that Leeds United fans can create a “great” atmosphere at Elland Road.

The 24-year-old spent a season on loan for Leeds when they were in the Championship, but didn’t make that move permanent.

White was outstanding for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, making 49 appearances in total and lifting the title at the end of the season.

White was part of the Leeds team that lost 1-0 against Arsenal at the Emirates in the FA Cup clash. He says it’s a “bittersweet memory”.

He has suggested that Elland Road has always been a “really big atmosphere”. However, he feels that the atmosphere at the Emirates is the best he has seen.

“When I was at Leeds on loan playing in a full Elland Road was always great – a really big atmosphere. In fact I played against Arsenal that year at the Emirates, in the FA Cup,” said White to arsenal.com.

“It was 1-0 to Arsenal, but I think Leeds probably deserved to win on the day, so it is a bittersweet memory for me.”

Atmosphere

White will always be loved by the Leeds United fans. He was immense during his loan spell at the club and helped the jump to the Premier League.

The Whites made several attempts to sign him as well, but Brighton got the best deal out of him this summer.

Past players who have played for Leeds often keep saying about the high-intensity atmosphere at Elland Road, and rightly so.

It is the spiritual home for the Whites, and Leeds are a passionate bunch of fans. They give their full support to their team, and idolise their manager, Marcelo Bielsa.

At times this season, Leeds fans have become the 12thman for their side, but that’s the best they can do to lift the team.

Leeds have improved in recent weeks, and Bielsa will hope they will pick up more consistency after the international break.
