Ben Parker blown away by Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips v Man United

Ben Parker was left thrilled by the performance of Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips in the 0-0 draw against Manchester United.

The Yorkshire Pirlo dominated the Red Devils, and kept one of the best playmakers in the Premier League, Bruno Fernandes non-existent at Elland Road.

Parker admitted that the Whites defence have a much easier job when Phillips is ahead of them, as he snuffs out the danger that is thrown at them.

Speaking on the LS11 Podcast on Tuesday morning, Parker was absolutely blown away by the performance of the England international.

“Kalvin Phillips,” he said. “Wow.

“What a player. What a performance, by the way – he makes the life easy as a centre-halve when you have an absolute baller in front of you.

“We look a really solid outfit at the moment.”

Baller.

Phillips is getting better every single week in the Premier League, and his importance is higher than any one single player in this squad.

Before the injury to Raphinha, many would have named him the most important, but we have managed two highly competitive performances against Liverpool and Manchester United.

The midfielder made eight tackles in the 0-0 draw according to WhoScored, the most he has managed in one game all season.

Parker is right to be blown away by Phillips, and we are lucky to have him in our midfield every single week as we charge up the Premier League.

With the EUROs coming up in the summer, and injuries in the squad, Phillips is favourite to start, something that he certainly has earned.
