BBC Sport journalist shares 49ers and Andrea Radrizzani update ahead of Leeds v Tottenham Premier League clash

BBC Sport journalist Adam Pope has revealed there is no sign of the 49ers or Andrea Radrizzani at Elland Road ahead of Leeds United v Tottenham.

Sam Allardyce’s side need a win against Spurs to give themselves any hope of securing their Premier League status.

Radrizzani is currently trying to complete a deal to takeover Serie A side Sampdoria and Pope revealed the Italian was yet to show his face ahead of the crunch clash.

“Programme notes from Sam Allardyce & Liam Cooper. None from chief executive Angus Kinnear again but expect him to attend the match. No sign chairman Andrea Radrizzani & 49ers here,” wrote Pope (Twitter, 28 May).

Have the 49ers and Radrizzani already given up? Their presence won’t alter the outcome of the match at Elland Road, but it’s important to show they are engaged and concerned about the club’s plight. Considering it’s another huge match in the club’s history, they could have at least saved the date.

Allardyce has openly admitted that keeping Leeds up would be his greatest achievement and he’s not wrong. If the Whites do survive it would have been against all the odds. The Yorkshire side do need a minor miracle but stranger things have happened.

An early goal at Elland Road would send the nerves into overdrive at Goodison Park. Everton know their future is in their own hands, but that could work against them.

The pressure and onus are firmly on Sean Dyche’s men to get a result. It promises to be an intriguing end to the 2022/23 campaign. If there was a time for the players to turn their poor form around, it’s now.
