Barcelona ace Sergino Dest reacts as Leeds United secure blockbuster Brenden Aaronson transfer

Leeds United have finally secured the signing of Brenden Aaronson on Thursday, months after first trying to get it over the line in January.

The Whites secured the American international on a five-year deal early in the window after securing their Premier League status with the huge win over Brentford.

One of the first people to react to the deal was Barcelona star Sergino Dest, who TEAMtalk report is wanted at Elland Road too to strengthen the defence.

Aaronson took to his personal Instagram account to deliver his first message as a Leeds player, and he was clearly buzzing with the deal being completed.

“I am humbled and honoured to join Leeds united with its great passion, history, and fan base,” he wrote. “So excited to join the team for preseason and have a great year.

“Thank you for all the supporting messages and I will do everything I can to represent this club well. Can’t wait to get started.”

Dest was one of the first to respond to the post, and he was delighted for his international teammate who he could eventually join if reports are to be believed.

Get him in.

This would be another brilliant piece of business.

Dest has shined at Ajax and although his time hasn’t gone 100% to plan at Barcelona, the talent is clearly there that can be brought back to life at Elland Road.

Moving is never comfortable, but with an international teammate, an American manager as well as an old teammate in the shape of Junior Firpo, it couldn’t make more sense.

Victor Orta knows that he will need to be busy this summer, with plenty of areas needing strengthening.

With Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling out long term with injury problems, bringing in Dest could solve that issue on the right and Firpo, fingers crossed, can continue his form from the season-ending win at Brentford.

Aaronson being confirmed this early makes us believe that a big summer is ahead – will that include Dest? Time is only going to tell, but we certainly wouldn’t mind.
