Aston Villa star Amadou Onana messages Largie Ramazani after Leeds United win v Cardiff City

Aston Villa star Amadou Onana has sent Largie Ramazani a new message after the clash between Leeds United and Cardiff City.

The Belgian winger marked his full Whites debut with a goal as Daniel Farke’s side ran out 2-0 winners in South Wales on Saturday (21 September), with Joel Piroe’s late strike securing all three points.

Ramazni made the move to Elland Road from Almeria earlier this summer and after his first strike in Leeds colours, the 23-year-old was inundated with messages, including one from fellow Belgian Onana.

Commenting on the Leeds ace’s Instagram post on Saturday (21 September) the Aston Villa midfielder said: “The only way is up” followed by a heart eyes emoji.

How much did Leeds United pay for Largie Ramazani transfer at Elland Road?

Leeds United and Farke were always going to have to be clever in the transfer market this summer having lost so many key players ahead of the new season, but in Ramazni they appear to have found a gem.

It would be unfair to expect the 23-year-old to immediately step into the shoes of Crysencio Summerville at Elland Road and match the Dutchman’s levels, but the early signs seem to be positive.

While the marking for the Belgian’s opener against Cardiff on Saturday left more than a bit to be desired, his impressive turn of pace to escape the defenders and composure to find the net will have impressed the travelling supporters.

Ramazani should have been heading back over the Severn bridge with a brace under his belt as he did spurn a golden opportunity to double his tally, but that miss showed that the winger is still a work in progress.

The initial signs are positive that Farke has found a new gem for his forward line to play alongside the likes of Manor Solomon and Wilfried Gnonto, but Ramazani is far from the finished article.

Hopefully, Saturday’s strike will be the first of many goals for the 23-year-old in a Leeds shirt.
